how to maximize your stay at skytop cottage on skytop lodge grounds

a typical day...

Rise early and sneak out of the house for a brisk walk around the Lake or in the woods, followed by a free continental breakfast at the Lodge.

Reconnect with family for a tennis match at the courts or

a round of lawn bowling on the south lawn or

swim in the indoor/outdoor pool or

join a guided walk led by the house naturalist

Lunch is a big decision:  the Deli at the course, sandwiches in the Tea Room (with the best milkshakes east of the Mississippi) or a multi course feast in the majestic Windsor dining room at the Lodge

Afternoons can be for napping, a trip to the Spa or full of activity courtesy of the Orvis Fishing & Shooting Center, the Adventure Center with 30 ft climbing wall, paintball and geocaching.  In the winter, there’s skiing for the kids, sledding, tobogganing and ice skating.  In the summer, go canoeing, fishing, biking or explore one of three waterfalls on property.

4 pm  You rush back to the Lodge for tea & cookies in the Pine Room

Rest til cocktails

6:30 to 8:30 pm  After cocktails in the cozy paneled Tap Room downstairs (fabulous wine and international beer selection), dine informally there or more formally in the Windsor or Lakeview Dining Rooms at Skytop ....or discover the numerous restaurants or pubs in the area.

Finish up with live entertainment at the Lodge or snuggle in front of the fireplace at 11 Fairway Lane.

Care has been taken to preserve the character of this roomy, yet cozy retreat. Numerous areas to lounge and four generous bedrooms and four baths assure your family a comfortable stay.

The first floor has two living areas, each with fireplace, dining area with windows overlooking the golf course, two kitchens, a full bath and a very large master bedroom (king) with in suite bath w/ shower. A large screened porch allows out door dining and lounging.

The second floor has three bedrooms (one king, one queen and two twins) and two hall baths, both with tub/showers.
